After the last human war, they finally drove themselves to extinction, along with most life on the planet. Remaining life has either barely survived or been altered beyond what it once was. In the need for survival, most life has evolved to become more dangerous.
Dangers
- Gamma Zones: The war has left some zones uninhabitable by almost anything due to radiation. Only Gamma creatures can survive, creatures that adapted to high levels of radiation that they now need to survive, sometimes leaving their zones to hunt.
- The Urban Jungles: Once the earth was largely populated by humans, now with out them the urban jungles started to decay and became dangerous, though other life forms started to proliferate from them, the buildings and other manmade terrains. Have become dangerous. Cats, Dogs, pigeons, and squirrels have thrived in this environment; now larger than dogs, they have become territorial, though not many in number.
- Desserts: Life in the desert has not changed much; it is one of the most dangerous places on earth, now with more animal life that can rest for years in one place until they detect their next prey or water.
- Magic: The world broke during the war but also brought back a connection to the magical world long lost. Creatures from that world had spilled into ours, and though the dream of a paradise is said to be found there. The magical world is not paradise itself if any is more difficult to travel in and makes no sense for most life on earth.
Acacians
-
Players play the role of Acacians. Water being too scarce and air contaminated required plant life to evolve. Now, no longer staying in one place, plant life became nomadic.
-
Acacians can only move on in their early life, when they are known as seedlings. Who tries to look for a more prosperous place to live? Where they can bury themselves on the land, become a tree, and have seedlings of their own.
Surviving the Wasteland/Goal
-
Though the wasteland is difficult to survive, Acacians, have genetic memory avoiding the need for an Acacian tree to teach a seedling. Even if it is not perfect memory, it has allowed each generation to be more capable than the last. Some Acacians have even developed intellect, and through generations, knowledge of machinery y, or magic.
-
The ultimate goal of an Acacian is to find paradise or create their own. Though, given the circumstances, Acacians know it cannot be achieved during a single lifespan.
-
During their lifespan, Acacians will try to collect water, fertile soil, nutrients, and a final place to become a tree while trying to achieve their final objective.
